I am the author of THE ABSENCE OF DEATH...a sweet little contemporary novel of death, vampire violence and seduction in a small town. It is being completed and I hope it will be appearing soon in a bookstore near you. I would love to meet anyone interested in my book, in writing or in vampires in general. I have posted some excerpts from the book in my blog and will be posting more from time to time. My thanks to all who take the time to read them and comment. All are welcome and appreciated. For the record. I have no hidden agenda and no sinister reason when I send out friend requests. Not looking to harass, stalk or insinuate myself into anybody's life. I consider language to be a thing of beauty, words that can be as finely tuned and played as a musical instrument. I am simply a writer who...like any band, singer, artist, photographer, etc. is trying to get his work exposed to as many people as possible. I respect the privacy of every person on my page and have no desire to bother anybody. I just want to write and post my blogs and hope people will read them. I am networking, nothing more. Most of the blogs are about vampires, that's true, but I also write of other things, so maybe you will find something here you enjoy. I hope so. In the interest of full disclosure, I have been battling CLL (chronic lymphosytic leukemia) for the past three years, so there may be periods when I must receive treatment and during those times, I will not be able to be here leaving comments as much as I would and do normally.

My heroes are: my son, who has dealt with not only the problems of his family, but also his own hardships over the past year and has done so with resolve and dignity and makes me prouder of him every day. Also, the doctors and , most certainly, the nurses who work so hard for far too little money treating cancer patients and making the ordeal that is chemotherapy as comfortable and manageable a situation as they can with patience and and compassion. ***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************



THE MIRROR

The mirror is a neutral thing, it tells the truth, not lies
It only reflects what it sees and offers no disguise
You cannot trick it, make it show you things that are not there
Lie all you want, the mirror shows the truth and does not care
It shows things as they really are, not as you'd have them be
The truth unvarnished, pure and real, not some odd fantasy
Even if you live your life inside a blurring haze
The mirror will reveal the truth when in it you dare gaze
Hide yourself in tricks and lies and think you're in control
But in that pure reflecting glass you'll always see your soul
So if you look into one and don't like what you may see
Blame yourself and no one else..not the mirror and not me
