By Choice We Became Friends

It is by chance we met, by choice we became friends.
Friendship is a strange thing...we find ourselves telling each other
the deepest details of our lives, things we don't even share
with our families who raised us.

But what is a friend? A confidant? A lover? A fellow email junkie?
A shoulder to cry on? An ear to listen? A heart to feel?
A friend is all these things...and more.
No matter where we met, I call you friend.

A word so small yet so large in feeling,
a word filled with emotion. It is true great things come in small packages.
Once the package of friendship has been opened,
it can never be closed. It is a constant book always written
waiting to be read and enjoyed.

We may have our disagreements, we may argue,
we may concern one another, friendship is a unique bond
that lasts through it all. A part of me is put into my friends,
some it is my humor, some it is my listening ear,
some it is real life experiences, some it is my romanticism
but with all, it is friendship. Friendships forged are a construct stronger than steel
built as a foundation, necessary for life and necessary for love.

Friends----you and me.

We started our group… Our circle of friends and like that circle...

Ella Fitzgerald was not allowed to play at Mocambo because of her race. Then, one of Ella’s biggest fans made a telephone call that quite possibly changed the path of her career for good. Here, Ella tells the story of how Marilyn Monroe changed her life:

“I owe Marilyn Monroe a real debt… she personally called the owner of the Mocambo, and told him she wanted me booked immediately, and if he would do it, she would take a front table every night. She told him – and it was true, due to Marilyn’s superstar status – that the press would go wild. The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. The press went overboard. Love Conquers All... and its amazing the capacity we have to Love... giving and receiving love in different ways is a very special part of being alive. It doesn't matter what challenges we face in our lives, good or bad, right or wrong, life simply seems easier and lighter when Love is present. When Love becomes the foundation for how we approach life, ourselves and other people, our experiences magically transform, it opens doors for many more possibilities. possibilities we would never have considered or thought possible before... I really believe that Love is the answer to most (if not all) of our questions... I believe it can be applied to every situation...
I believe when we don’t know what else to do, when there’s nothing left, there’s Love.
There is always Love... Love is Everything!

Life, it can be truly amazing at times. It brings people into your world that are unbelievable. They touch you in ways you never expected. You grow from these experiences, becoming someone new. You view the world differently. At times you learn that Love is endless and can come from the least likely of places.
