My father was a country singer, songwriter and guitar player. You can hear his music and read more about him at: http://www.rybird.com/volliebrown.html . He had a 1946 Gibson acoustic he bought new, that I have since acquired. He was a patient man, and showed me all the basic open chords and how to play a few simple country songs

I listened to Rybird’s new album, Music for Interrogation, and it’s a full-on, energetic musical adrenaline rush. Every track grabs you and pulls you in and doesn’t let you go, and then swirls around in your mind for a long time after it’s over.

Music didn’t just give me energy, it controlled me. Depending on the style of music being played, I may have become subdued and relaxed as opposed to dancing. I would really be attracted towards mood music that affected my mood, and dreamy music, that encouraged daydreaming.

I made it out to the Solid Rock Church on the east side of Cincinnati this morning. If you’re in the area, that’s the church you can see from I-275 near the Beechmont exit. You can check them out online at http://www.solidrockchurch.org The service itself I really liked. They played two of my favorite hymns, [...]

One of my old MySpace friends insisted on calling gays “sodomites” because, “That’s what the Bible calls them.” No amount of evidence to the contrary would convince him. He also didn’t seem to care that it’s considered a derogatory term in LGBT circles and never quite understood why he couldn’t get gays to listen to [...]

Many times a transistor especially will cease to function when it warms up or gets hot. So we carefully start at one end and freeze a transistor and wait 30 seconds for the temp to drop before moving on to the next transistor. If we hear that the pedal or electro widget starts working, we have found the culprit

Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, founder and president of the San Diego based Ruth Institute, feels that LGBT groups have hijacked the rainbow and she wants it back. “The rainbow is a sign of God’s covenant with man.” “Proposition 8 was passed by a great grassroots coalition that included people from all across the religious traditions, [...]
