Lady Cheryl
She taugjt is right
That is why I am still here tonight
Taught me to write
Even though not here we keep her in our sight
She added wings that stay in flight
For each she touched sharing her light
Never give up she would say when we gripe
She taught us love,respect treat all with or pay the price
Now, we are blessed to have Bob who is head chief
Keeping us going and when the going gets touch he fights
His poetry and site he shares every Friday night
He always adds in a funny , but knowlege from past he is bright
He taught history in his time teaching still he does right
With co-host Michelle her poetry one can learn from for her skill
She is a true poet reading will feel chills
For her poetry reading adding smiles takes away all ill
They make a team , true team for when visiting you feel
Without Bob not sure where we would be tonight

Writing has proved very therapeutic for me during difficult times -- times which are part and parcel of our human condition. I have learned from sharing with you all that we all have hidden wells and walled-in rooms which become revealed in the act of sharing our deepest thoughts and emotions. What Cheryl created here, and what you all continue to foster and nourish is truly a Wonderland!

Hubby is having a med procedure today so I’m at the hospital with him and will try to type this on my kindle.
WITH THANKS TO MY FRIENDS
Pen in hand
I come to this day
Much of the time
With not a whole
Lot to say
sitting down at my desk
Before the sunrise
With a steaming
Cup of coffee
To help focus my eyes.
And as the birds outside
Sing their sweet morning songs
to welcome the sun
As it rises with the dawn
I check in with my Pals
at the CPC Corral
where talent
And inspiration
And encouragement
and friendship abound.
And suddenly the pen
That had not much to say
Begins to write
In a “poetry” kind of way
the words beginning to flow
Onto this once-blank page
inspired and encouraged
By a bunch of wonderful friends.

Thanks so much, Diane! We just got home and it’s a lot easier to type on the keyboard at my desk. I have no idea how folks can walk and text or do all the other things they do while texting. I can’t even do it sitting in a chair. I’ve been so very blessed by my association with CPC. Honestly, before I began trying the Collabs four years ago (or probably even more by now), I had written possibly one thing that could even have remotely been called “poetry” . . . . in fact the only things I wrote pretty much consisted of report card comments and notes to parents and academic writing — nothing along the lines of “creative writing” — and now I can’t even begin to think about a day going by without writing at least something. I am ever so grateful to Cheryl and all my friends here for the daily themes and encouraging words that really are what keep my own writing alive. And Hubby is doing well and not much the worse for wear after today’s procedure. Giant Hugs to everyone and thanks again. All the pieces posted are so heartfelt and awesome. An honor to read them.
