As Far As His Arms Can Reach

July Twenty Second Two Thousand Twelve

It’s another Lonely Night
Where again it’s hard to breathe
From knowing all he wants
Is there within his reach

As he contemplates the moment
Of looking into her eyes
While taking her into his arms
To where he’ll never say goodbye

Oh! How he wish’s there were a way
He could turn the hands of time
To a time when they both could had met
Before living their separate lives

Where the years they’ve missed together
Were cherished inside their hearts
Instead of the memories missed
From when they were apart

For what some are given easily
To others is only a dream
That’s wished for an entire life
To become a reality

Where only in their silent slumber
Are they able to meet again
To enact the love they’ve imagined
As lovers skin to skin

There in those darkened hours
He finally drifts to sleep
With his arms extending outward
As far as they can reach
