last night (Friday 6/29) at 10:25pm I was sleeping, soundly…suddenly (like flippin’ a switch) the winds started howling, torrential rains (and maybe some hail) pummeled the house…the lightning seemed continuous, and the power went out…it came back on 21 hours later…the “roomie” and I hung out all day long…Lunch, a movie…a visit to her workplace (to cool off) and then Dinner, then home…the power came back on around 7:35–we were checking her e-mail in her office when she got one informing her (and the other residents of our neighborhood) that the power was back on–and it still is…there was talk of more storms, but that hasn’t happened yet…

there was a band playing nearby that I’d hoped to go see, but (I think) their gig was canceled…there was a band playing even closer, but I’d had enough of the heat…they were playing outside…

I THINK the workplace has power…I guess I won’t know for sure ’til I get there…If there’s no power and I can’t work the shift, I will still get paid for 3 hours…it just might be almost kinda nearly sorta in a way worth it to go all the way down there, turn around and come back…we’ll see…

ADDENDUM–the workplace had power, but I THINK the AC is programmed to NOT run on Sunday…I may not have done everything, but I did more than I thought I would…
