So Sherri Robbins and I played our Karmafest gig today…our percussionist/drummer backed out yesterday…the dominoes of disaster starting falling at that point…I had a major problem at the start of our set…I wanted to use a “stomp box” with my acoustic guitar but (I was told) the output signal coming from it was practically non-existant…I could swear I’d used it before under similar circumstances, but anyway…I kinda know what the soundman was telling me, so after I gave up on using it, we got on with the gig…of course the “glitch” affected her too I’m sure…it was not an intimate environment (a fairly big stage) and we weren’t as physically close as we shoulda been…and it was very hot (and somewhat humid) but otherwise (ha ha) we apparently kicked butt…*I* would give us (maybe) a 7 outta 10…we were joined on the last number by some female drummers; Sher had set that up before the show…it was not the spontaneous event I thought it was…but it made me feel slightly better, if only briefly…
