Read All About It
Headlines will grab
Those especially sad
or those that blab
Even those happy
So many sad do not tell does not paying tab
Tell when the incident ends glad
For they like to keep writing’
Getting you into, your attention for a length of time
As once end that is it
Now, one has to find another story’
One to top the others for salary and glory
Self enjoy the ones with happy endings sending
Yet, those title with shock do have to view for brain spinning
Wondering what it is or is it worth the tears and energy thinning

But always

These days

In the makin
Disbelief
That all this kin be happen
Right here
In our own back yards

LOL that front page is a howl! Would that it were as true of government
The NY Times slogan should be changed to: All The News That Fits Our Agenda
I once saw another version which instead of :all the news that’s fit to print,” went: “All the news that fits, we print.”

Daily headlines line my head.
Trailing deadlines drag like lead.
Real headlines infest like weed,
enhance or hinder lawn of need.
Some reflect a noble creed;
some announce a dirty deed.
Did star Freddie eat a rodent?
Did he do what sane one wouldn’t?
Headlines spotlight victories
for large competing entities:
Sputnik Launched in Western sleep;
Man Lands On Moon, one giant leap.
Headline magic rustles thought:
milestones marked or come to naught;
some in a dispute are caught
or beg to ask: What hath God wrought?
Headline magic defines day
It is all in what you say.
Compact phrase to grab the eye
pull eye’s owner in to buy.
Headline magic dreams fulfill
every longing of the will.
Type it bold on your heartscreen
where its content can be seen.
Headline dream spotlights a wish
to reflect the perfect dish:
Garden peace served every day
with mounds of love as the entree.

I see this all the time and last year Minnesota shut down The lottery, state parks (during busy city)and lot other things to save money. but when they open up the states they that was working for state went into over time to catch up all the work that build up while state was shut down. where did they save money. they lost lottery money and money people payed for state park camping. This state needs people know what there doing, not idiots working for the state.

Quick write…i don’t read the papers or watch tv anymore
~
We have come to a time
In this day and age
Where news is controlled
As we flip page by page.
~
Telling us only
What they want us to know
Truth is obscurity
That they don’t show.
~
Headlines are catchers
To the glimpsing eye
That’s how they attract us
To the next big lie.
~
It no longer attracts me
I won’t look their way
The headlines don’t register
Their game I won’t play.

NEWSWORTHY . . . .
Have you heard the news?
Seen the headlines today?
I hear things aren’t exactly
going our way.
The jobs are still scarce;
the money’s still tight;
the housing market
is still giving us
oh, such a fright;
the earth is still shaking
way out of control;
and the skies are still falling;
and that’s not fun at all.
It must be the full moon,
that’s all I can say.
What else could it be
that the headlines
are telling me?
I saw it in the paper
in letters big and bold,
though I try not
to read them,
as unsettling
as they are.
So instead of dwelling
on all the bad news
that I read
in those headlines
and hear on the TV,
I do what I did this morning
and that’s this --
I seek out those places
that bring some peace
to my mind and to my heart,
that reduce at least some
of the stresses that get to me.
I go back to the gardens
and the peace that I find.
and immediately my heart
begins to settle down.
And those headlines
that seemed so important
at the time,
the news
and the images
on the TV
are put into perspective
by the time the day is done
and my attitude changed,
the headlines no longer
getting the better of me.
