In your name
I ask of you
Blind my eyes to that
I should not see
Deafen my ears to
words of hate
Bind my heart
not to feel the hatred
I have witnessed
during my lifetime
Bind my hands
So they may never
take what is not theirs
Let not my feet
Touch soil where
hatred reigns
Humble my heart, my soul
That I always know
I am not and never have been
above others in any form
Let me not be selfish
in any way
Let me be that
What I should be
Let me give of myself
unselfishly
Let me always put
Others first
Above my wants, my needs
Let me never be as alone
as I sometimes feel
For I know
You are here with me
constantly
All I need do
Is call your name
