NOT NEARLY ENOUGH IT SEEMS…..
2012-04-17 at 01:14 pmI supposed when President Kennedy spoke these words he must have meant them,
but looking back at our history…it has to make you wonder…doesn’t it ?
Now I know some people out there reading this blog are saying it is unrealistic to expect a world without any wars…………
Is it……?
Is it really……?
Or is it that we in this would have gotten far to used to starting wars when ever we deem them necessary ?
Me I’m thinking the later.
Thank you my friends

This was banned….?
Are you serious….?
Gee I don’t know…?…But it might be because some people are really bothered
about seeing the truth. You know it’s much more pleasant to live in a Bubble gum world where everything is beautiful and there is absolutely nothing wrong.
Ivory Towers…you’d be surprised just how much some people love em…..
No hatred,no oppression,no anything….and all you have to do…
is close your eyes.

As far as the United States is concerned we appear to be the most willing to go to war.

It was banned in US…first appeared in France. That’s why he released a second version filmed in Brazil…the other version everyone knows it.
You know why, he didn’t appeared lately? Not cos he was ill, had skin cancer and all those stupid things….Cos his message was your message…but wasn’t commercial enough. I posted at some point his Oxford speech, don;t know how many had the time to stay, watch and listen…but he send the same message.

The less eduacated a person is, the more likely they can be talked into going to war against somebody else. The more educated a person is, the more likely that they will find tons of better things to do, than go to war against somebody else.
So if you want to end war, spend money on education all over the world. It costs a whole lot less to give somebody an education, than it does to wage war.
A BOOK will give you more bang for your buck, than a bomb!

That is a huge truth for sure L.F.T.E. but still we continue to increase the defense budget, all the while the Republicans keep talking about cutting spending on education and everything else…and most of them went to college too.Well I guess just like most things the republicans do not want anyone to have what they already have,or for that matter anything close to what they have.I really struggle when I see that attitude ya know.
Thanks……

Most of us have learned that the only way to break that cycle of perpetual anything,be it war,or anything else is to refuse to accept it.refuse to buy into the attitude that as one example would want you to believe that War is good for all living things……It’s not obviously…..so why accept it.
It’s nice to see that you fight a differing fight here Roscoe….One that is for the protection of life, and one that finally says….”No”!

“a world without war.” We cannot say much about human affairs with any confidence, but sometimes it is possible. We can, for example, be fairly confident that either there will be a world without war or there won’t be a world — at least, a world inhabited by creatures other than bacteria and beetles, with some scattering of others. The reason is familiar: humans have developed means of destroying themselves, and much else, and have come dangerously close to using them for half a century. Furthermore, the leaders of the civilized world are now dedicated to enhancing these dangers to survival, in full awareness of what they are doing, at least if they read the reports of their own intelligence agencies and respected strategic analysts, including many who strongly favor the race to destruction. Still more ominous, the plans are developed and implemented on grounds that are rational within the dominant framework of ideology and values, which ranks survival well below “hegemony,” the goal pursued by advocates of these programs, as they frankly insist.
Wars over water, energy and other resources are not unlikely in the future, with consequences that could be devastating. For the most part, however, wars have had to do with the imposition of the system of nation-states, an unnatural social formation that that typically has to be instituted by violence. That’s a primary reason why Europe was the most savage and brutal part of the world for many centuries, meanwhile conquering most of the world. European efforts to impose state systems in conquered territories are the source of most conflicts underway right now, after the collapse of the formal colonial system. Europe’s own favorite sport of mutual slaughter had to be called off in 1945, when it was realized that the next time the game was played would be the last. Another prediction that we can make with fair confidence is that there won’t be a war among great powers; the reason is that if the prediction turns out to be wrong, there will be no one around to care to tell us.
I have no idea when — or if — humans will ever abolish war. It took centuries of seemingly hopeless effort to end slavery. But this much I do know:
Voices that preach peace must never fall silent. They need to speak so loudly that they drown out those who clamor for war. Even if our species is not yet ready to end war, we must always be prepared to create a climate for peace.

Wow, good comment aneleh…..I really like your last paragraph…it is good practice to create a climate for peace!
Your comment proves why history needs to be recorded and passed on. Hopefully someone will break this viscous cycle of war.
I think those whoever you are public figure or not, who want peace and no war ALL NEED TO KEEP SPEAKING LOUDLY, never to fall silently and teach our children to carry on when we are all dust. We need to help with peaceful solutions , carrying them out not just speak of it.
Have a good day……
