TO THE EDGE OF THE SEA
Captivating my imagination
and soothing my soul,
the waves of the oceans
speaking to me,
rhythmic and hypnotic
bringing peace and calm
to the restlessness
and wandering spirit
within my heart.
I hear their sweet sound,
the waves whispering my name,
their melodies calling me once more
to the edge of the sea.
And on those days
when the peace that I seek
completely eludes me,
I retrace the steps
that I took just yesterday
and listen very carefully
to the songs of the sea,
the rhythms and melodies
that speak directly to my soul,
quieting my restless heart
for at least a little while,
washing over my insecurities,
my doubts and fears,
emotions running deep.
Alluring and powerful
the rush of the waves,
the spray of the ocean,
the winds upon my face.
And as I approach
the edge of the sea,
I hear the powerful melodies
from deep within
as they rise upon the waves
and dance within the wind,
at once touching
my heart
and my soul
and the center
of me.

thte is just something about the sea that calms the sound the smell and the feel of the waves i think great write barbara hugs inky
